Alsek River Expedition- Alaska / Yukon Canada

In August Rich participated in a descent of the Alsek River in Alaska and the Yukon, Canada. The Alsek is one of the most scenic river trips in North America. It averages 12 days and flows through a world heritage Site encompassing the vast preserves of Kluane National Park Reserve, the Yukon's premier wilderness area, the Tatshenshini-Alsek Wilderness Park, and Glacier Bay and Wrangell-St. Elias National Parks. One of North America's premier multi-day river runs,  the Alsek contains Turnback canyon. A helicopter portage of the canyon and the adjacent Tweedsmuir glacier safely gets you around the un-raftable canyon.

Check out the slide show and see how the trip went.
